The Cloud: We’re ready now

In his latest guest post over at TechCrunch, Aaron Levie discusses how the big corporates are about to ready themselves to embrace the cloud:

“Well the dust is beginning to swirl once more. Over the next two years, enterprise IT will follow in the footsteps of today’s early adopters and visionaries, finally embracing the Cloud and moving content, applications, and processes to the web. So what are the catalysts for this perfect storm? A combination of maturing platforms, generational and cultural shifts, and compelling economics, making cloud-based solutions the undeniable choice for nearly all future non-core technology purchases.” (full article)

Here at FileShare HQ we’re ready and open for business for companies ready to use Cloud based products to cost-effectively improve their business workflow. As part of any day-to-day business FileShare HQ is a great solution for easily storing and sharing files, securely, online. Modern email platforms still have a ceiling to the size of file you can send, up to 20MB, and FileShare HQ solves this common dilemma, providing an easy, web based application for storing and sharing files, with no maximum file size. What’s great is users who already have a workflow that supports FTP we can integrate straight to it with FTP access available with all accounts.

A great FREE account, and 30day trial on all accounts, is available today.

In-the-press: Monteray County Herald

Fileshare HQ featured in the wild again today, here at the latest Tech and IT article at the Monteray County Herald

Q: My Digital files (photos and documents) are becoming too large to e-mail. Is there a better way to deliver them?

A: You have the option of Zipping or compressing the file size smaller, but this requires that the recipient have the software to unzip or decompress it. Plus, even after compressing, your file may still be too large. For example, images tend not to compress very well.

The latest method of sending files is to use a file sharing service such as YourSendIt or FileShareHQ. These applications are utilities that allow you to upload your files securely with just a few clicks. Identify the person you’d like to send those files to, and they receive an e-mail with a link to download. It’s simple, convenient and effortless.

Now there’s almost no limit to the things you can send to your family, friends and clients. Free accounts are available, offering up to 1 gigabyte of storage, which is plenty as long as you clean up your files once you’re done.

Fileshare HQ - how does this help me?

Many of our customers are not sure they needed a File Sharing and Storage solution, such as FileShare HQ, until they use it for the first time! We’re constantly talking to customers who have every-day experiences of failed emails, auto reponders from recipients, and no way to transmit their large files fast and efficiently, across the office or across continents.

FileShare HQ was designed for pro and corportate users to do just that. Files are uploaded to your FileShare account over a super-fast connection, and available immediately the upload is finished. Want to use FTP (?) (commonly a faster way to move files) then no problem - every account has FTP access included for you AND your clients.
Want a client to see a whole folder? Even our free account lets you set up a new user with  access to their own folder within your account. You can even remove the FileShare HQ branding and add your own logo - great for corporate users.

We love hearing from users who have had great experiences of file sharing with FileShare HQ - send yours over to hello@filesharehq.com - it’s good to talk!

USA Today comment on the file sharing market…

From today’s USA today, some interesting info on the file sharing market place:

“Gartner analyst Frank Kenney says the managed-file business is worth $600 million today and will grow to $1 billion by 2012.

“Our e-mail boxes have gotten smaller, we’re not getting the room we necessarily want to have to send big files, and we need help,” he says.

Fueling the demand for file-transfer services: File sizes are growing. Higher megapixel counts on digital cameras mean bigger file sizes for photos. And the popularity of homemade video creates a problem for folks who want to e-mail clips. Video files are huge: One hour of uncompressed video is 13 GB.”

Add your own branding

With the launch of our complete package of pay plans, comes the ability for ‘Business’ level subscribers to alter the branding of FileShare HQ and own the look and feel of the interface for their clients, and users.

Adding your own branding is as simple as uploading your own logo. To make it look really great we’ve even added some tips on the size and background colour you should use for your branding.

Step 1: Log in to your account, select ‘Account Settings’ from the tab menu, and then select ‘Branding’.

Select branding

Step 2: From the Upload a new logo section, choose your logo. Here is where it is best if you have a background of #222222 and a max height of 81px. Don’t worry if you don’t - FileShare HQ will work it out for you.

Step 3: Once you have loaded your logo, the interface branding will change, and you still have the option to upload a new logo, or revert to the default branding at any time.

Here is how the login, and shared file, screens look when you have added your own branding:

This new feature makes FileShare HQ great for businesses wanting a professional solution to sharing large files with clients, staff and suppliers.
